Governor Kate Brown Orders Flags Lowered To Half-Staff In Honor of the Annapolis Shooting Victims

(Salem, OR) — Governor Kate Brown today ordered all flags at Oregon public institutions to be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset on July 3 in honor of the victims of the shooting in Annapolis, Maryland.

“As the nation grieves for the victims and those involved in the horrible shooting in Annapolis, we are also reminded of the important role played by the press and local reporters,” Governor Kate Brown said. “The shooting is a tragic reminder of how common gun violence is in America, and a wake up call that action must be taken by Congress to keep our communities safer.”

The White House also issued a national flag-order, and the full presidential proclamation is available here.
