BLM proposes greatly increased timber harvest in Western Oregon

On February 19th, the Bureau of Land Management published a Notice of Intent to gut the management plans governing nearly 2.5 million acres of forests across 18 Oregon counties, including Lincoln County. Lower drug costs for OR seniors are here

By Isobel Charle  Ten popular medications used largely by older adults will be an average of 50% cheaper for most of Oregon’s Medicare enrollees, starting this year.The change is a result of a new law which was part of the Inflation Reduction Act passed in 2022. Report: Proposed OR biofuel plant falls short on green goals

By Isobel Charle   A proposed renewable diesel plant on the Columbia River would likely not live up to its promise of supporting Oregon’s emissions goals, according to a new report.The NEXT Renewable Fuels refinery near Clatskanie would produce 50,000 barrels of diesel daily.
